We’re pleased to announce that, after a successful appeal, Native Land has received a rare planning consent for Belgravia – allowing us to deliver Kilmuir House, a super-prime residential development.

Native Land has won its appeal against the decision by Westminster City Council’s planning committee to deliver the new six-storey super-prime residential building which will comprise 60 high-quality new homes with an additional four affordable units as well as 800-sq-ft of flexible retail floorspace on the ground floor.

Designed by award-winning architects @pilbrowandpartners, the building’s materials and proportions will be grounded in the design principles that characterize #Belgravia, one of #London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods.

We will unlock the potential of this riverside site and deliver the highest quality housing alongside lifestyle amenities for both residents and the wider community. The scheme will comprise 185 private and affordable homes and 21,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space.

We will also be delivering almost an acre of newly created, biodiverse public realm - including a riverside walk that will link the High Street to the River Wey for the first time in more than 50 years. Sustainability is at the core of our designs and the buildings will be all-electric and net zero carbon in operation.

Last week, we welcomed HRH The Princess Royal to the beautiful sky garden at our Edinburgh development, @neweidyn, to plant a tree during the formal opening of @stjamesquarter, one of the UK’s largest regeneration projects and home to New Eidyn. HRH The Princess Royal planted the tree as part of the @queensgreencanopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

We are pleased to announce that planning permission has been obtained for NL to develop a cutting edge lab-enabled workspace in King’s Cross at Judd Street, WC1.

The five-storey, 57,000 sq ft building will undergo repositioning and reuse to cater to the growing life sciences and technology sector. The site in the Knowledge Quarter is close to the Francis Crick Institute, Wellcome, UCL, British Library, Alan Turing Institute and British Medical Association.

The building will follow a design from Stiff + Trevillion Architects and run entirely on electricity, targeting a BREEAM Outstanding rating. The refurbishments will seek to outperform the RIBA and LETI 2030 goals for embodied carbon with target emissions of 250-300kg CO2E/sq m.

Native Land will act as development manager for the project which is a joint venture between AshbyCapital and Montrose Land. The site was acquired in January 2021 from the Royal National Institute of Blind People.

Alasdair Nicholls, Chief Executive of Native Land, said: “105 Judd Street is a flagship project that supports the aims and objectives of the Knowledge Quarter and embodies Native Land’s mission to provide innovative, sustainable, mixed-use urban projects, offering a first-class experience for occupiers.”

Knight Frank and Cushman & Wakefield have been appointed as letting agents. Gerald Eve advised on planning.
