Native Land was honoured to welcome Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal to New Eidyn as part of the opening of St James Quarter, – a 1.7m sq ft regeneration that represents more than £1 billion worth of investment into Edinburgh’s city centre.
New Eidyn is a development of 152 beautifully crafted apartments over three buildings located on the upper levels of St James Quarter and is set to redefine modern, city-centre living in the Scottish capital. The apartments benefit from the unparalleled amenity of Edinburgh’s new mixed-use destination, with 80 retail brands, a mix of restaurants and bars and Sky Gardens with far-reaching views across Edinburgh’s historic skyline and the Firth of Forth.
Her Royal Highness took a tour of the development, joined by the Lord Provost of Edinburgh, Councillor Robert Aldridge, where she unveiled the foundation stone and planted a tree in the Sky Garden as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy, a tree planting initiative created to mark the Platinum Jubilee.
Nicholas Gray, Sales & Marketing Director at Native Land, said: “It was an honour to welcome HRH The Princess Royal to New Eidyn. Having a tree planted by The Princess is a truly special addition to the residents’ gardens at New Eidyn – we know our residents will love watching the tree grow and visiting it time and time again.”
