Native Land, the leading London residential and mixed-use development company, has announced the first major step in the redevelopment of St Botolph’s, the residential component of the Hammerson development in Bishop’s Square, Spitalfields, as the contractor is appointed.
Native Land have appointed Crispin & Borst, a subsidiary of VINCI PLC, to undertake the development. Crispin & Borst are also refurbishing the existing listed Grade II St Botolph’s Hall. Work will commence on site in September this year. The building contract is worth £2.3 million.
The new apartment building will provide 14 apartments designed over four floors, finished to a very high specification and offering accommodation in studios and 1 and 2 bedroom apartments. The development will be covered by a grass sedum roof and the scheme will qualify for a “Very Good” Eco Homes rating.
The property is located immediately adjacent to St Botolph’s Hall and stands opposite Allen & Overy’s office building, designed by Foster & Partners.

The development will be completed by Summer 2008. The overall value of the development will be £6.5 million.
