In total, 68 buildings have been shortlisted by the jury, and each will be assessed in the coming weeks, with the winners announced at the RIBA London Awards ceremony on Monday 18th May at the National Theatre’s Temporary Theatre on the Southbank.
Jointly developed by Native Land and Grosvenor, the already multi-award winning NEO Bankside has become one of London’s most well-known new developments. Set across four residential pavilions, and designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners, each pavilion ranges in height from 12 to 24 storeys.
Alasdair Nicholls, Chief Executive of Native Land, said:
“We are delighted that RIBA has shortlisted NEO Bankside for this highly-acclaimed award, and acknowledged the careful consideration, and pioneering design that you can see at the development today.
“By working collaboratively with architects Rogers Stirk Harbour + Partners on NEO Bankside and currently on Burlington Gate in Mayfair, we collectively create communities within world-class residential developments that complement the architectural character of the local area.”
Regional winners will be considered for a highly-coveted RIBA National Award in recognition of their architectural excellence, the results of which will be announced in June. The shortlist for the RIBA Stirling Prize for the best building of the year will be drawn from the RIBA National Award-winning buildings later in the year.
