Native Land is proud to announce that Twenty Bishops Square has been shortlisted for ‘Best Housing Development’ at the 2009 Grand Designs Awards.
The development, which comprises 14 ‘boutique style’ apartments, was selected by the judging panel for demonstrating a progressive attitude to design, context and the environment.
Twenty Bishops Square, which was developed by Native Land and designed by Matthew Lloyd Architects, carefully balances the architectural extremes of its surrounding buildings, which range from modern office developments through to the Grade II listed St Botolph’s Hall.
The result is a spectacular exhibition of design innovation which compliments the award winning Bishops Square. The restoration element showcases immaculate workmanship, while the new build element illustrates a truly progressive solution to merge new and old with the use of modern materials.
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony held on 30 April at the Grand Designs Live event at ExCeL, London.
