Bishop’s Square, the location of Native Land’s St Botolph’s scheme, has been shortlisted as Best New Public Space in the Mayor’s London Planning Awards.
The Scheme, designed by leading architectural practice Foster & Partners, marries the two architectural styles – the older building links via a horizontal, glass roof, blending with the modern steel and glass office buildings within the Bishop’s Square development.
Commenting on the development, James Henderson, senior development executive of Native Land, said, “The regeneration of Spitalfields is a major success story and it is now one of London’s most vibrant areas. We are delighted that the quality of Bishop’s Square has been recognised by the Mayor and we are confident that this will provide a major boost to our scheme.”
The London Planning Awards will be presented at City Hall on 15th January 2008.
